Aboriginal Health Navigation Role

Culturally safe and inclusive care is essential for the wellbeing of Aboriginal children and young people.

About the Position
  • Provide holistic health navigation and support to Aboriginal children and young people (0-18) in Out of Home Care (OoHC).
  • Deliver clinical services aligned with AHPRA registration, prioritizing trauma-informed care.
  • Build strong relationships with Aboriginal families and carers, fostering a sense of belonging.
  • Lead the Pathways to Good Health program, providing operational and cultural leadership.
  • Mentor team members in culturally safe practice, promoting a culture of excellence.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • AHPRA registration as a Division 1 Registered Nurse or Aboriginal Health Practitioner.
  • Proven experience delivering culturally safe, trauma-informed services to Aboriginal children and young people.
  • In-depth knowledge of the health, social, and emotional wellbeing needs of Aboriginal children, particularly those in OoHC.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with ACCOs, community, and multidisciplinary teams.
