At Careers at Council, we are seeking an Environmental Management Coordinator to provide strategic environmental advice and ensure compliance with relevant legislation. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about creating value for the community through effective communication and stakeholder engagement.

About the Role

As an Environmental Management Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing high-quality customer service, supporting the development and implementation of our Environmental Management Framework and ISO 14001 system. You will also conduct site inspections, investigate environmental issues, and provide professional advice to all levels of staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sustainability and Compliance
    • Support the development and implementation of our Environmental Management Framework and ISO 14001 system
    • Conduct site inspections and investigate environmental issues
    • Provide professional advice to all levels of staff
  • Customer Service
    • Deliver quality customer service
    • Create value for the community through effective communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Environmental Expertise
    • Have a degree in Environmental Studies or related field
    • Demonstrate experience working within and/or developing an environmental management system certified to ISO 14001:2004
    • Have experience conducting environmental investigations and reporting
Requirements:
  • Education
    • A degree in Environmental Studies or related field
  • Certifications
    • A current General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
    • A Class C Drivers Licence
  • Experience
    • Demonstrated experience in working within and/or developing an environmental management system certified to ISO 14001:2004
    • Experience conducting environmental investigations and reporting
    • Experience with NSW environmental legislation
