About the Role:
The Mental Health Professional is responsible for providing comprehensive psychological assessments and therapeutic services to clients with a range of mental health issues.
This role requires remote travel and collaboration with other healthcare professionals to provide evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and develop treatment plans in consultation with clients and their families.
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions to address clients' mental health concerns.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and coordinated care.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, their families, and healthcare providers.
- Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in mental health care.
Requirements:
- Master's degree or higher in Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Full registration with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist.
- Eligibility to apply for a Medicare Provider Number and bill for services rendered.
- Demonstrated experience in completing comprehensive psychological assessments, diagnosis, case formulation, and treatment planning.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and other modalities.
- Awareness of Aboriginal culture and its relevance to mental health care in Australia.
- Ability to work effectively in remote locations and with diverse client populations.
- Understanding of the importance of cultural safety and humility in clinical practice.
