Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our organization in a role that focuses on promoting a safe working environment.

This full-time position will be responsible for coordinating and implementing work health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and legislation to safeguard the wellbeing of employees.

The successful candidate will oversee multiple sites, with the role based at a central location. A company vehicle will be provided for travel between sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring WHS policies, procedures, and systems to promote a safe working environment
  • Conducting regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards and legislation
  • Providing WHS training and education to employees, including toolbox meetings
  • Investigating and reporting workplace incidents and near-misses, and recommending corrective actions
  • Maintaining accurate WHS records and preparing reports for management
  • Liaising with regulatory bodies to meet legislative requirements

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in WHS coordination or management, preferably within the industry
  • Thorough understanding of relevant WHS legislation, regulations, and codes of practice
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement
