Job Title: Workplace Health Specialist

Job Description:

As a Workplace Health Specialist, you will play a crucial role in driving safety excellence and creating a positive work environment. You will be responsible for developing and implementing health and safety strategies that align with the company's vision.

You will work closely with operations managers to achieve consistency of health and safety strategies, service delivery arrangements, and performance outcomes. This includes monitoring, guiding, and informing the operations on health and safety management policies, procedures, and networks.

Key responsibilities include leading and coaching operational managers on proactive analysis of information, leading and lagging indicators, and culture survey results to promote a positive and resilient safety culture.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety or related field (desirable)
  • Previous experience WHS partnering (preferably within the transport industry)
  • Understanding of National heavy vehicle regulations and Chain of responsibility

Others:
  • Work closely with key stakeholders internally and externally in the event of a serious incident to share investigation outcomes, provide appropriate communication, prevent recurrence, and mitigate further liability
  • Contribute to reviews of the strategy and ensure local alignment
  • Submit weekly and monthly reports to the National Risk, Training, and reporting manager on health and safety performance
