High-Profile Utilities Project Manager

As a High-Profile Utilities Project Manager on the Inland Rail Beveridge to Albury Tranche 2 Project, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of utility works. This includes planning, coordinating, and delivery of utility relocations, protection of existing services, and creation of new connections to support construction works.
You will work closely with different utility service providers across eight sites from Wandong to Benalla to ensure works are delivered in accordance with project requirements. A critical part of this role is your ability to work closely with other project stakeholders, such as engineers and design consultants, to ensure that utility deliverables are met and the project progresses smoothly.
About the Role- Provide technical advice and input across the project in relation to utilities and services.
- Ensure stakeholders are actively engaged throughout; partner with and coordinate the input of SMEs, designers, delivery partners, vendors, and sub-contractors.
- Proactively plan, manage, and deliver effective reviews in accordance with approval requirements.
- Assess commercial and contractual risks, identify and implement appropriate controls, and escalate actual or potential issues to Commercial Manager and/or Delivery Manager.
- Effectively manage allocated subcontract packages through all phases, including scope preparation, procurement, cost forecasting, subcontractor management, claims/variations processing, completion, and close-out.
- Manage on-site engineering functions through subordinates, which may include Project Engineers, and/or Cost/Planning Engineers.
- Obtain relevant design parameter information for incorporation into detailed designs and construction specifications.
- Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction, and specifications against site plans and conditions, and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary.
- Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, programme workloads, and provide technical and administrative guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved.
- Ensure that project engineering completion is on time and within budget. Record completed work, costs incurred, materials used, and retain progress drawings.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and planning authorities to ensure satisfactory completion of construction work.
