**Job Overview**
Mater Education is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate **Student Welfare Specialist** to provide holistic wellbeing and welfare support to students.
The successful candidate will work closely with educators to provide academic and social support, facilitating student engagement with our programs. Key duties include:
- Monitoring and supporting the wellbeing needs of students
- Assessing student needs and facilitating access to appropriate support services
- Developing and implementing structured welfare programs to promote student wellbeing
- Providing training for teachers and support staff on welfare related areas
- Reporting to the Education Manager
**Academic Support Function**
Although the primary focus is on welfare support, there may be opportunities to work within the academic skills development space, providing timely and inclusive front-line learning services and strategies to support student success.
**Requirements**
To be successful in this role, you will have a sound knowledge and experience of providing welfare support, with qualifications or experience in community services, counselling, youth work, social science, or education related disciplines.
You will also possess excellent communication skills, demonstrated ability to work in partnership with diverse stakeholders, and a commitment to promoting student wellbeing and academic success.
