Job Opportunity

Oaks Melbourne on Market Hotel is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our kitchen leadership team.


The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in leading high-volume service kitchens, preferably in hotels or function venues.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensuring consistency, quality and portion control across all menu items.

Additional requirements include:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef with a sound understanding of food safety and compliance standards.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills with ability to work across a rotating roster, including nights and weekends.
  • Relevant culinary qualifications (Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent) and Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (highly regarded).
