Psychiatry Opportunities
The Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District seeks a skilled Psychiatrist to provide innovative and collaborative care to children and young people experiencing acute mental distress. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a valuable impact on the community, including a significant Aboriginal population.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Team's Clinical Lead to build partnerships and ensure seamless provision of care. The Safeguards Team is part of the interdisciplinary Child Youth and Family Mental Health stream, expanding to provide care to the Blue Mountains and Lithgow region. Successful applicants will participate in a District-wide CYF-MH Consultant after-hours roster.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide medical leadership to the senior team
- Develop and implement best practice time-limited care for children and young people aged 0-17 years
- Work collaboratively with the Team's Clinical Lead to build partnerships and ensure seamless provision of care
- Participate in ongoing evaluation and development of the model of care
Requirements:
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or equivalent
- Certificate of Advanced Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
- Current NSW driver's licence
Demonstrated expertise and experience in providing effective, high-quality mental health services in a psychiatry setting are essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in an interprofessional context, are also required.
