Occupational Rehabilitation Specialist Job Summary
Job Description:This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our valued veterans. The role of an Occupational Rehabilitation Specialist involves working with clients who have physical and/or psychological conditions, providing them with the necessary support and guidance to overcome their challenges.
As an experienced professional, you will use your initiative to solve problems and work creatively and collaboratively to secure the best outcomes for your clients. Your ability to assess rehabilitation needs and develop individualized plans will be crucial in helping clients transition successfully from military life to civilian society.
- Client case management, focusing on assessment and development of personalized rehabilitation strategies.
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of client's rehabilitation needs, identifying areas for improvement and creating actionable plans.
- Coordinate return-to-work initiatives, including vocational assessments, functional capacity evaluations, work trials, and job placement services, as well as non-return to work plans that focus on engagement in treatment and psychosocial activities.
- Delivery of early intervention and occupational rehabilitation services, emphasizing evidence-based practices and client-centered care.
- Liaison with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless delivery of services.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as Psychology, Rehabilitation Counselling, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, or Exercise Physiology, with AHPRA registration or membership in ASORC or ESSA.
- Injury Management experience gained within an occupational rehabilitation setting.
- Comcare accreditation preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
