Job Overview

This role is instrumental in fortifying our organization's risk framework through astute analysis, stress testing, and proactive risk management.

  • We are seeking a highly motivated Financial Analyst to play a pivotal part in identifying emerging risks and opportunities in financial markets and macroeconomic trends.
About the Position

You will be integral in assessing and managing balance sheet risks, ensuring model governance compliance, and delivering high-quality insights to support informed decision-making across the organization.

  1. Monitor financial markets and macroeconomic trends to identify emerging risks and opportunities.
  2. Lead or support the development, validation, and governance of financial risk and forecasting models.
  3. Review and challenge balance sheet management actions and strategies considering financial resilience and strategic alignment.
  4. Coordinate and deliver stress testing and scenario analysis, including Enterprise Wide Stress Testing (EWST).
  5. Contribute to the identification and quantification of new and emerging risks such as climate risk.
  6. Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to enhance risk awareness and foster a strong risk culture.
  7. Deliver timely, accurate analysis of financial risks aligned with risk appetite and resilience.
Your Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in financial analysis, treasury, risk, or a related discipline.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical insights effectively.
  • Exceptional skills in building relationships and fostering collaboration.
  • A proactive mindset in identifying solutions and staying abreast of emerging risks.
  • Tertiary qualifications in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
  • An understanding of financial markets and their impact on organizational performance.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with proficiency in relevant tools.
  • Familiarity with stress testing and scenario planning techniques.
  • Working knowledge of risk frameworks and APRA prudential standards.
