The successful candidate will be offered an hourly rate at $40 + per hour – depending on experience. In addition to this competitive remuneration, we offer potential overtime and biannual bonuses, providing opportunities for increased earnings.

Job Description

As a Workshop Technician in our Newcastle Branch, you will play a vital role in preparing new Hitachi and Bell products to customer specifications, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining the highest standards of quality.

You will be responsible for:

  • Diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of new and used equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and timescales, aiming for improved punctuality and job efficiency.
  • Preparation and testing of pre-delivery inspections for new equipment.
  • Ensuring all work is performed safely and efficiently, adhering to company policies and industry standards.
  • Completion and submission of relevant paperwork and reports.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized working environment, aligning with our 5S standards.

Requirements

To succeed in this position, you will need:

  • A relevant mechanical trade qualification or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in the overhaul, repair, and servicing of mechanical and hydraulic components on earthmoving equipment.
  • A Heavy Rigid and Forklift license would be highly regarded.
  • A strong safety focus, with a good understanding of Workplace Health and Safety principles.
  • Effective communication skills and a dedication to delivering high-quality work for an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).
  • The ability to work within a team environment.
