The salary for this role is approximately $40 + per hour, with potential overtime and biannual bonuses available. This equates to an estimated annual salary of around $82,000 - $95,000 based on a 38-hour workweek and assuming average overtime hours.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Workshop Technician to join our team in Newcastle. As a key member of our workshop team, you will be responsible for preparing new Hitachi and Bell products to customer specifications, and providing quality diagnostic and general maintenance services in a professional and timely manner.

  • Diagnostic Repairs and Maintenance: You will diagnose, repair, and maintain new and used equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and targets for improved punctuality and job efficiency.
  • Pre-Delivery Inspections: You will prepare and test pre-delivery inspections of new equipment to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Safety Focus: You will ensure all work carried out is performed in a safe manner, adhering to company safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Paperwork and Reports: You will complete and submit all relevant paperwork and reports accurately and promptly.
  • Working Environment: You will maintain a clean and tidy working environment, adhering to the company's 5S standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant mechanical trade qualification or LV Mechanics experience.
  • Previous experience with the overhaul, repair, and servicing of mechanical and hydraulic components on earthmoving equipment.
  • A Heavy Rigid and Forklift licence would be highly regarded.
  • A strong safety focus with a good understanding of Workplace Health and Safety principles.
  • Good communication skills and a dedication to providing quality work for an OEM.
  • The ability to work within a team environment.
