Precedents Technician

As a precedents technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our team by preparing and maintaining precedent documents. You will work closely with our KM/Precedents managers to provide advanced word processing support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and maintaining precedent documents, including styling, formatting, creating, reviewing, and testing
  • Ensuring that precedents comply with the firm's document style requirements
  • Automating precedents using I-Deal Docs software
  • Providing advanced word processing support to the KM/Precedents managers, including document creation, automation, and testing
  • Assisting with evaluation and implementation of new technology to enhance the workflows of the team, and knowledge-sharing across the firm

Requirements:

  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills and experience using other Microsoft Office products in a legal environment
  • Experience using I-Deal Docs or other document automation software (ideally including automating documents using the software)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills
  • Professional discretion and integrity in dealing with confidential information and maintaining confidentiality on all matters
  • Able to handle multiple tasks while working to tight deadlines
  • Able to work well as part of a team, and to collaborate effectively with other team members
  • Self-motivated, with a high degree of initiative and the ability to work independently
  • Responsive, flexible, and proactive, able to adapt to changing business needs, including new technology
