About the Role

Careers in mental health crisis response require a unique blend of empathy and expertise.

The Crisis Intervention Specialist is part of an innovative team dedicated to providing trauma-informed care to individuals in need of mental health services. Working closely with law enforcement officers, the CIS responds to calls in the community that may involve individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. This role also involves follow-up outreach to ensure individuals are connected to the right support systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Mental health screenings and crisis assessments
  • Providing information about community resources
  • Contacting community providers to advocate for individuals
Schedule:
  • 5–8 hour shifts, various shifts including weekends

This position is non-exempt and union-affiliated. The hourly pay rate is $36.06.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or a related field, with at least 3 years of supervised experience in mental health delivery
  • LSW, LISW, PC, or PCC certification required
  • Valid Ohio driver's license with a good driving record and proof of insurance
