Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Intake Director to join our team at Corrs Chambers Westgarth, a leading independent law firm in Australia.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction to the firm in designing and implementing enhanced policies, systems, and procedures for Business Intake, aligned with industry best practice. This includes:

  • Developing and overseeing the implementation of the firm's AML/CTF Program, including training and communications, stakeholder engagement, audits, and regular review of the program;
  • Managing day-to-day Business Intake, including client and matter due diligence, AML/CTF risk assessments, and stakeholder engagement;
  • Leading the Business Intake Team, advising on team composition and structure, and assisting with recruitment as needed;

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in designing, managing, and implementing key AML/CTF compliance programs, preferably in an international law firm. They will also possess knowledge of AML/CTF requirements and risks associated with the legal industry, as well as experience in managing teams and driving performance.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in AML/CTF compliance, preferably in an international law firm;
  • Strong understanding of AML/CTF requirements and risks associated with the legal industry;
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and manage complex AML/CTF compliance programs;
  • Experience in managing teams and driving performance;
  • A bachelor degree or higher qualification, preferably in a relevant field;
  • A recognised AML/Compliance qualification is desirable but not essential.
