The Commonwealth Bank of Australia (Bank) is a leading provider of integrated financial services, committed to improving governance practices and aligning them with business, stakeholders, and customers' needs.

The Group Financial Reporting & Analysis (FR&A) team provides financial support to the CEO, CFO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board. The team's areas of focus include:

  • Performance reporting – performance analysis and monthly management reporting
  • Planning and forecasting – ownership of the Group's Planning & Forecasting process, strategic and ad-hoc analysis
  • Decision support – strategic projects, insight development, and ad-hoc analysis
  • Investment Reporting and Analysis – reporting and analysis on the Group's internal change portfolio

This role reports directly to the Executive Manager, Decision Support. The purpose of the role is to drive the strategic agenda for FR&A, delivering value-adding, insightful reporting and analysis to the Board, Group CEO, Group CFO, Head of Group Finance, and the Executive Committee.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver critical insights and value-adding ad-hoc analysis on CBA's current and future performance
  • Peer benchmarking analysis of CBA against their peers every 6 months
  • Advice on strategic investments and M&A transactions (including valuation support)
  • Other decision support activities
  • Assist with delivery of six-monthly results for the Profit announcement
  • Help drive productivity improvements across our key Group processes

Requirements:

  • Excellent commercial acumen
  • Strong analytical and commercial skills, with demonstrated ability to draw insights from analysis
  • Attention to detail and quality
  • Advanced Excel skills for financial modelling and analysis
  • Understanding drivers of equity valuation
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously
  • Innovative and able to drive results
  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills and critical thinking skills
  • Tableau and Alteryx skills preferable
  • Investment transactions experience preferable
