Job Opportunity: Support First Nations Children

This role presents a unique chance to contribute to the well-being of First Nations children with disabilities or developmental delays. Our team seeks an experienced and passionate professional who can provide comprehensive support services tailored to their needs.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of child development (0–9 years) and have a deep understanding of local First Nations communities. They must be skilled at building strong relationships with families and be able to facilitate community networks and service pathways. The successful applicant will also be responsible for promoting a culturally safe and supportive work environment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Spend most of your time supporting First Nations children aged 0–9 with disabilities or developmental delays by empowering their independence, community inclusion, and overall quality of life.
  • Develop strong relationships with First Nations families and prioritize their voices and preferences.
  • Conduct observations of children in their natural environments to assess their functioning and support needs.
  • Collaborate with First Nations families to establish meaningful goals and aspirations for their child and family, tracking progress toward these objectives.
  • Foster connections and linkages to mainstream services in the local area, enhancing children's access to necessary supports and social participation.
  • Operate within the framework of the Best Practice Guidelines in Early Intervention.

This position is based in Sydney and involves regular travel across the area to engage with families and communities in their homes.
