Job Role Summary

This position focuses on providing support to First Nations children aged 0–9 with disabilities or developmental delays, aiming to enhance their independence, community inclusion, and overall quality of life.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with First Nations families, prioritizing their voices and preferences
  • Conduct observations in a child's natural environment (in-person and/or remotely via video conference) to assess their functioning and support needs
  • Support First Nations families in establishing meaningful goals & aspirations for their child and family, tracking progression towards these objectives
  • Connect First Nations families with relevant mainstream services in the local area, facilitating children's access to necessary supports and promoting meaningful social participation
  • Work within the framework of Best Practice Guidelines in Early Intervention
About You:
  • Prior experience working with First Nations children and families is highly valued
  • Familiarity with child development (0–9 years) and knowledge of local First Nations communities are essential
  • Able to promote a culturally safe and supportive work environment
  • Aboriginal identity confirmed by a common seal and a reference from an Aboriginal organisation or community group
