">Mechanical Fitter Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our Western Australia Metals Fleet & Assets Team. The successful candidate will operate on an 8 days on 6 days off roster, with all accommodation, meals and transport provided whilst on shift. This role will be based in Adelaide and will involve operating DIDO or FIFO from Adelaide to Prom Hill.

The Mechanical Fitter will provide breakdown technical support and maintenance for all of our mobile plant and equipment on site. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting our site with mobile and fixed plant breakdown support;
  • General servicing of all mobile and fixed plant and machinery;
  • Schedule servicing, repairs, alterations and breakdown maintenance;
  • Assist Site Managers in the management of a maintenance plan for the equipment at the site;
  • Knowledge and adherence to relevant procedures, statutory requirements and codes;
  • Continually reassess risks associated with operation and maintenance processes taking appropriate corrective action as required;
  • Participate in safety programs and promote safe work practice.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Trade certification in Heavy Road Transport;
  • Previous experience working on heavy machinery or mobile plant (advantageous);
  • For HV Mechanics, auto electrical knowledge is advantageous;
  • Strong written and verbal communication, customer relations and problem-solving skills;
  • Driver's license required;
  • Ability to attain a Heavy rigid dangerous goods vehicle license;
  • Ability to attain a National police clearance;
  • Ability to attain Confined space and Working at heights certification;
  • Self-Motivated worker with a strong attitude to safety and quality of service.
