Job Opportunity: Community Engagement and Communications Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team in a key role that involves developing strategic community engagement plans, implementing defined initiatives, and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with senior managers to create annual stakeholder and community engagement plans for major projects.
  • Implement established plans and report on progress as required.
  • Develop a comprehensive community and stakeholder engagement framework that outlines the organisation's approach to engagement, aligned to strategic objectives and Board-endorsed strategies.
  • Proactively lead the implementation of community and stakeholder engagement plans for major projects.
  • Contribute to the planning of quarterly community advisory committee meetings to ensure accurate representation of project priorities.
  • Prepare high-quality content and key communications related to engagement initiatives in alignment with the organisation's brand strategy and tone of voice.
  • Manage digital assets or areas of digital assets related to project engagement priorities.
  • Report on success criteria and associated outcomes.
Requirements:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in community/stakeholder engagement (minimum 3 years).
  • IAP2 Certification qualifications and/or clearly demonstrable experience in communications and project management.
  • The ability to effectively implement multi-initiative engagement plans.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Cultural and political awareness and sensitivity.
