Andrews Meat Industries is a leading food service meat supplier with three key divisions: foodservice, value added (cooked), and export. These divisions supply to the hospitality industry, including restaurants, cafes, hotels, clubs, and resort groups, as well as other market segments like health and aged care, education, aviation, and sporting venues.

About the role:

An experienced transport and logistics professional is required for a full-time permanent position at Andrews Meat Industries in Lidcombe, NSW. The successful candidate will work autonomously and with the Transport team to coordinate efficient transport movements through effective communication with multiple stakeholders.

Work hours are Monday to Friday from 6:30 am to 4 pm, with some Saturday work (paid overtime).

Responsibilities include:

  • Mentoring the transport team to develop strong relationships with AMI customers
  • Troubleshooting daily operational problems, such as locating missing boxes and resolving unexpected challenges
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives, including optimizing delivery routes
  • Maintaining a safe working environment, ensuring safe loading of product
  • Managing vehicle maintenance and cleanliness
  • Managing domestic and regional freight invoicing
  • Conducting weekly toolbox talks
  • Participating in compliance, customer, and internal audits
  • Assisting in ongoing compliance with Chain of Responsibility legislation for heavy vehicles
  • Managing a team of delivery drivers, including training and recruitment

About you:

  • You must hold a current MR NSW Driver's License
  • You should have experience in supervision or management with proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate staff
  • You should have experience in transport/logistics and fleet management
  • You should have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • You should have effective problem-solving capacity
  • You should have sound knowledge of Chain of Responsibility legislation

Salary estimate: $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience. Location: Lidcombe, NSW.
