About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Privacy Officer to join our Risk and Compliance team in Sydney. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a comprehensive privacy risk assessment and controls monitoring program that enables consistent, effective privacy practices across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a privacy risk management framework that enables Divisions to maintain effective privacy controls and manage privacy complaints and breaches.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Information Security Officer to ensure alignment between security and privacy compliance programs.
  • Promote information privacy awareness and maturity uplift across the organisation through training and development programs.
  • Support the continuous improvement and strengthening of key privacy standards and controls across divisions.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience in a senior privacy or data protection role in a complex, matrixed financial services organisation. You will possess professional privacy qualifications, such as Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM). You will also have excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and compelling manner.
