Business Analyst Job Description

The role of Business Analyst is pivotal in our organisation's pursuit of safeguarding Australia's interests through advanced data analysis, threat detection, and strategic intelligence gathering.

This position plays a critical part in supporting the search for business solutions that address complex and ambiguous situations.

As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Investigating business situations with significant complexity and ambiguity.
  • Adopting a holistic view to identify and analyse problems and opportunities.
  • Contributing to the selection of approaches and techniques for business situation analysis.
  • Conducting root cause analysis and providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Engaging and collaborating with operational stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
  • Planning, managing, and investigating business situation analysis with significant ambiguity and complexity.
  • Advising on the approach and techniques for business situation analysis.
  • Ensuring a holistic view is adopted to identify and analyse wide-ranging problems and opportunities.
  • Engaging and collaborating with a range of stakeholders, including management level individuals.
  • Gaining agreement from stakeholders on conclusions and recommendations.
Mandatory Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Desirable Qualifications
  • IIBA Entry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA)
  • IIBA Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA)

A current TSPV security clearance is essential for this role.
