About the Role:

Metro North Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, cost-efficient, and effective clinical and non-clinical services to directly or indirectly benefit the patients/clients of Metro North Health.

About You:

We are looking for a candidate who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide specialist geriatric care to patients/clients allocated to you by working within your awarded Scope of Clinical Practice (So CP) as determined by Metro North Health and limited by the Clinical Service Capability Framework (CSCF) of individual facilities.
  • Provide high-level, specialist knowledge and skills, consultation, and advice to patients, General Practitioners, and to the department, as required.
  • Actively take part in quality improvement, risk management, peer review, Morbidity and Mortality meetings, and audits to demonstrate positive change as a result.
  • This includes support for National and College quality standards and outcomes measures such as PREMs and PROMs consistent with Value Based Healthcare.
  • Undertake self-initiated reflective practice and maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to uphold professional competence and expertise.
  • Provide clinical governance and supervision of staff reporting to you, including junior medical staff.
