We are seeking a Recreation Planning Specialist to join our Infrastructure Planning Department for a 3-4 month contract with potential extension.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing strategic projects related to recreation and open space planning. This includes community consultation, research, data collection and analysis, report writing, and presenting findings to stakeholders.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Implement strategic projects related to recreation and open space planning.
  • Maintain accurate records of works carried out in accordance with council policies.
  • Draft reports for executive and council meetings, and attend meetings as required.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to ensure integration between functions.
  • Participate in cross-departmental initiatives to influence recreation and open space outcomes.
  • Assist in developing strategic plans and prepare associated reports.

**Requirements:**

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in project management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.
  • Experience with GIS beneficial.

**Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in planning for recreation, open space, or social infrastructure.
  • Experience in policy analysis and development.
  • Tertiary qualifications in recreation and open space planning, leisure studies, or urban planning.
  • Government experience preferred.
