At Mission Australia, we are committed to creating a society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing practical support and supervision to individuals and families at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

Our team at Stuart Lodge in Alice Springs offers a comprehensive support service, including assessment, case coordination, and case management. You will work closely with clients to establish positive relationships, assist with basic needs, and support them in a sensitive and culturally appropriate manner.

As a Support Worker, you will be part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of Australians in need. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and contribute to the development of our innovative and inclusive culture.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Establish positive working relationships with clients
  • Assist team members in the provision of practical support to clients
  • Assist clients with basic needs and support clients in a sensitive and culturally appropriate manner
  • Assist team members with client compliance to program rules and responsibilities
  • Undertake basic administrative tasks in accordance with instructions
Requirements for Success
  • Previous experience in a similar position
  • Experience working with Aboriginal communities with an understanding and respect for the culture
  • Be computer literate in Microsoft programs
  • Be willing to work as part of a roster which includes nights and weekends
  • Senior First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain would be desired
