Job Title: Junior Legal Professional

Description:

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious junior legal professional to join our team as a Solicitor Level 2. As a key member of our legal services branch, you will play a critical role in providing expert legal advice and support to the Commissioner of State Revenue.

The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and possess a sound understanding of litigation, court, tribunal and legislative processes.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop your advisory and litigation skills while working under the mentorship and guidance of experienced solicitors in a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing effective and efficient legal advisory services and advocacy to support the Commissioner of State Revenue
  • Conducting own litigation and advice case-load with supportive legal supervision
  • Preparing and conducting cases for litigation at VCAT and the Courts
  • Briefing and instructing counsel at interlocutory proceedings and substantive hearings
