
Compensation and Benefits Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Compensation and Benefits Specialist to join our payroll division. This is a 12-month contract opportunity that will provide high-level support to the business and ensure accurate and timely processing of employee payments.
About the RoleYour key responsibilities will include:
- Processing high volume payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
- Maintaining and updating accurate payroll data, including data collection and entry.
- Processing calculations including back-payments, redundancy calculations, terminations and leave entitlements.
- Providing support and guidance to employees on payroll-related matters.
- Collaborating and communicating with internal stakeholders to resolve payroll related queries.
- Being proactive in investigating and assisting the team to fix issues.
- Facilitating payroll adjustments for salary increments and contributing to month-end and year-end procedures.
- Supporting the Payroll Helpdesk as required and ensure that tickets are resolved in a timely manner.
- Interpreting relevant Awards and ensure compliance with internal policies and legislative requirements.
This role requires someone with significant experience in delivering high-volume payroll services within complex environments. You will be a strong communicator who thrives working in a fast-paced environment.
You will also have:
- Ideally 5+ years' experience in high volume payroll environment.
- Experience with Chris21 is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of technical payroll practices and Australian payroll legislation, and complex payroll systems.
- Knowledge of taxation laws and regulations including PAYG, ETP, Payroll Tax and Superannuation.
- Experience interpreting Awards/EBAs would be highly beneficial.
- Certificate IV in Payroll Administration or a Diploma in Payroll Services or a Degree in Accounting is highly desirable.
- Experience interpreting Awards/EBAs would be highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of taxation laws and regulations including PAYG, ETP, Payroll Tax and Superannuation.
- Strong understanding of technical payroll practices and Australian payroll legislation, and complex payroll systems.
