Freight Forwarder Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Freight Forwarder to oversee the end-to-end import process of ocean freight shipments.

This role requires strong logistics knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling customs clearance, coordinating carrier bookings, tracking cargo, and ensuring timely delivery to the final destination.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the ocean import process from port arrival through final delivery.
  • Coordinate with ocean carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Monitor and track shipments, providing timely updates to customers.
  • Prepare and submit necessary documentation for customs clearance, such as commercial invoices and bills of lading.
  • Ensure full compliance with customs regulations and international trade laws.
  • Requirements:
  • Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Direct experience in ocean import operations is highly advantageous.
  • Proficient in basic calculations related to freight costs and rates.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Capable of working effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
