Ocean Freight Import Specialist

A Logistics Coordinator oversees the import process of ocean freight shipments.
This includes handling customs clearance, coordinating carrier bookings, and ensuring timely delivery to the final destination.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the ocean import process from port arrival through final delivery
- Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies for on-time delivery
- Monitor and track shipments, providing updates to customers
- Prepare and submit necessary documentation for customs clearance, such as commercial invoices and bills of lading
- Ensure full compliance with customs regulations and international trade laws
- Build strong relationships with customers by delivering excellent service
- Previous experience in logistics or a related field preferred
- Direct experience in ocean import operations is highly beneficial
- Proficient in calculations related to freight costs and rates
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Capable of working effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of ocean freight procedures and customs regulations
- Familiarity with international trade compliance and relevant laws
- Fluent in English; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with logistics software is preferred
