We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Cloud Operations Specialist to become a vital member of our Platform Enablement team. In this role, you will take charge of the architecture, execution, and management of our shared build and hosting environments.

The Cloud Operations Specialist will empower engineering teams by implementing our DevOps methodologies and tools, ensuring optimal solutions for our clients while safeguarding the integrity, performance, and security of our platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, and deploying software across various environments.
  • Manage our AWS Cloud Infrastructure accounts within the overarching Flight Centre account.
  • Enhance operational efficiency by automating all facets of cloud infrastructure, testing, and code deployment.
  • Ensure the quality of our outputs through automation and observability, guaranteeing operational reliability and performance.
  • Design and construct efficient, testable, and maintainable cloud solutions, balancing problem-solving with simplicity.
  • Analyze business needs and troubleshoot to devise appropriate solutions for our clients.
  • Review security assessments and implement necessary remediation actions.
  • Engage in code reviews with fellow engineers to provide constructive feedback, ensuring adherence to quality standards and compliance.
  • Investigate emerging technologies and trends to enhance our solutions.
  • Maintain and refine our documentation across codebases, architectures, and knowledge repositories.
  • Actively participate in the global engineering community to enhance our practices across the organization.
  • Become a domain expert, deeply understanding the product and advocating for the customer’s perspective.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience as a Cloud Operations Specialist.
  • Demonstrated expertise in AWS cloud services.
  • Strong grasp of Cloud Security principles and experience in delivering solutions aligned with AWS security best practices.
  • Experience in implementing Continuous Delivery methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with containerized applications using Docker, optimized for scalability with AWS services like ECS/EKS.
  • Familiarity with serverless architectures, particularly AWS Lambda.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as CloudFormation, CDK, and Terraform.
  • Experience with observability tools, including logging (e.g., Splunk, Kibana) and monitoring (e.g., New Relic, Data Dog).
  • Competence in Linux and scripting languages (e.g., bash, Python).
