Manufacturing Operations Director

We are seeking an accomplished Manufacturing Operations Director to oversee our textile manufacturing facility in Melbourne, Australia. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products.

**Job Overview:**

  • You will report directly to the CEO and COO, with direct control over all facets of operations, including people, safety, quality, product, processes, and new product development.
  • Direct operational control of a newly commissioned manufacturing facility, inclusive of shopfloor staff, plant/equipment up-time, quality management, continuous improvement, safety compliance, daily performance reporting, supplier engagement and sourcing.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain operational safety, product quality, and cost accuracy.
  2. Foster a healthy management/employee culture.
  3. Manage and improve manufacturing costs to drive profitability.
  4. Develop and implement strategies to turn new product development goals into reality on the shopfloor.
  5. Measure weekly targets in Safety, Operations, People, Quality, Product, and In-Process controls.

Requirements:

  • Experience in textile manufacturing operations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as ERP systems, inventory management systems, and maintenance management systems.
