About this Role

We are seeking a qualified professional to support individuals and families affected by alcohol and other drug (AOD) use.

The role involves conducting assessments and delivering evidence-based counselling to reduce AOD-related harm, support behaviour change, and promote recovery.

Additionally, the position may include providing supervision to colleagues.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in health or welfare, such as Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Allied Health Sciences, or Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD)
  • Experience working with Aboriginal communities
  • Understanding of systemic issues
  • AOD or dual diagnosis counselling experience
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of therapies such as CBT, MET, Harm Reduction, Trauma-Informed Practice, Narrative Therapy, Family Inclusive Practice, and Community Reinforcement

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of systemic issues, including racism and colonialism. They should have experience working with Aboriginal communities and be familiar with various therapies and approaches.

Furthermore, we are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting individuals and families affected by AOD use. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to promoting recovery and reducing harm through evidence-based practices.
