Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Clothing Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing innovative clothing products and providing technical support.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of our product development process, collaborating with our creative team to design and develop new clothing products.

You will be responsible for evaluating samples to ensure they meet our high standards, participating in fittings to perfect our designs, and providing valuable insights during production to maintain quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Development: Develop specialist knowledge in garments, trims, patterns, pattern adjustments, garment fitting, or another subspecialty.Sample Management: Create, maintain, file, and control versions of accurate and detailed tech packs.Trim Selection: Select, develop, and test trims to support product development and manufacturing.Communication: Manage the sample request process and ensure proper briefing to factories.Quality Assurance: Assess and comment on samples for quality, manufacture, and compliance.Project Management: Adhere to the critical path and communicate critical path milestones to factories.Reporting: Maintain Work In Progress (WIP) reports.Co-ordination: Coordinate sample management and product fitting activities to ensure proper sizing and fit.Documentation: Ensure correct size charts and grading templates are followed accurately and consistently.Goldseal: Goldseal pre-production samples to factories and quality team within timelines.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience working with offshore suppliers.
  • Fitness Expertise: Extensive knowledge in fit assessment and correction.
  • Patternmaking: Knowledge in patternmaking and grading.
  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor's Degree or Certification in Product Design, Engineering, and/or Textiles.
  • Apprenticeship: Relevant industry apprenticeship or experience.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and time management.
