Job Opportunity: Health and Safety Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing professional advice and support to promote continual development and improvement in safety culture.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in health and safety, with a formal tertiary qualification (degree or postgraduate qualification) and/or equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training with a Diploma in health and safety as a minimum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional advice and support to promote continual development and improvement in safety culture
  • Maintain risk/hazard registers for all facilities
  • Facilitate a consistent approach to risk management, ensuring workers are trained and using risk management tools
  • Report and record all incidents, hazards, and near misses
  • Conduct regular visits to all areas of responsibility, interacting with the management team and workforce to determine suitability of processes and risk management

Requirements:

A minimum of 2 years' experience in a hands-on HSE Advisory capacity, preferably with multi-business activity, is required.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated sound knowledge of Australian legislation relating to Occupational Health & Safety and subsidiary documents such as standards and Codes of Practice.
