Empowering Veterans for Sustainable Outcomes

RSL Queensland delivers innovative programs to support veterans and their families.

The Wellbeing Practitioner plays a pivotal role in building therapeutic relationships with veterans and their families by partnering them with local agencies, health practitioners, Government departments, and other ex-service organisations. The practitioner empowers veterans to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes by responding to and working with our ex-service community.

  • Work closely with veterans and their families within homelessness and financial hardship programs.
  • Assess clients and prepare case management plans that support an outcomes-based approach to veteran wellbeing.
  • Conduct home and hospital visits to ensure veterans receive emotional support, counseling, or other assistance as required.
A Dynamic Role in Community Support

You will be responsible for building important relationships with other community members to promote services and support the local community.

  • Demonstrate a degree qualification in Humanities/Arts (Social Welfare) or Health Sciences or Social Science or similar, along with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a relevant position.
  • Show extensive knowledge and experience in Strength-based Case Management.
  • Aptitude for and interest in completing ATDP or MILADW001 in Welfare.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in planning and managing client workloads across highly sensitive environments and situations.
  • Show superior communication and interpersonal skills to rapidly build rapport and trust.
