Protecting Financial Integrity

The fraud investigation function requires a skilled and experienced professional to undertake complex and sensitive criminal investigations.

This role offers an opportunity to strengthen fraud control, collaborate with the Fraud Fusion Taskforce, and utilize skills to protect financial integrity.

About the Position

  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations in accordance with departmental procedures and Australian Government Investigation Standards.
  • Collect, secure, and manage evidence and confidential information.
  • Prepare cases and briefs of evidence for referral to relevant parties.
  • Provide expert testimony in criminal and civil court as a representative of the agency.
  • Analyse and process information to produce accurate and informative reports.
  • Engage in formal and informal discussions with agency staff and partners.
  • Support the execution of search warrants, involving domestic air travel and extended working hours.

Requirements

  • Hold a Certificate IV in Government Investigations or equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrate high-level interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment and autonomously.
  • Have experience in conducting interviews, preparing statements, and managing evidential material.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.
  • Have experience in providing expert testimony in criminal and/or civil court.
  • Be available for travel where required.

As an Australian Citizen, you must be able to pass and hold national police checks and worker screening checks.
