Clinical Midwifery Specialist

Job Overview:

Our organization seeks an experienced Clinical Midwifery Specialist to join our Inpatient Services team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high standards of clinical practice with a focus on complex care planning and supervision for high-risk patients.
  • Lead and support the multidisciplinary team in the management of patient deterioration, including high-risk pregnancies and critical events.
  • Provide expert midwifery advice, education, and mentoring to junior and developing staff.
  • Promote effective communication and clinical problem-solving to enhance patient care and team collaboration.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities, contributing to research, and sharing findings to strengthen evidence-based care.
  • Act as a role model and values-based leader, supporting the professional growth and development of others.
Requirements:
  • Current registration with the relevant professional body.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a tertiary maternity service.
  • Extensive experience providing midwifery care to high-risk patients and offering expert clinical advice.
  • Proven leadership experience in a complex hospital environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
