Midwifery Services Leader

This position requires an experienced midwife to lead our inpatient services team.

As a Clinical Midwifery Specialist, you will provide expert clinical leadership, promote contemporary midwifery practice through research and education, and drive continuous quality improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high standards of clinical practice with a focus on complex care planning and supervision for high-risk patients.
  • Lead the multidisciplinary team in managing patient deterioration, including high-risk pregnancies and critical events.
  • Provide expert midwifery advice, education, and mentoring to junior staff.
  • Promote effective communication and problem-solving to enhance patient care and team collaboration.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities and contribute to research to strengthen evidence-based care.
Requirements:
  • Current registration with the relevant nursing board.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a tertiary maternity service.
  • Extensive experience providing midwifery care to high-risk patients and offering expert clinical advice.
  • Proven leadership experience in a complex healthcare environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
