Job Opportunity: Cyber Security Network Engineer

This role will play an active part in managing network security, improving maturity and capabilities, maintaining and writing related security standards and processes, and uplifting the health monitoring and control effectiveness of the organization's cyber stack.

About Your New Role

  • Provide governance and support to ICT projects containing network security, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the organization's network security infrastructure, driving innovation and best practices.
  • Participate in architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful and secure deployment across infrastructure, considering scalability and flexibility.
  • Develop and enforce security policies and network security best practices, prioritizing risk mitigation and compliance.
  • Monitor and manage network security incidents, including log review, to minimize impact and optimize response.

We're Looking For People Who Have

  • Passion and drive for cyber security, with a commitment to staying up-to-date on industry trends and developments.
  • Certified network security or equivalent knowledge, with experience in implementing and managing security controls.
  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent knowledge, with a strong foundation in computer systems, networks, and security principles.
  • Certification in cyber security products or equivalent knowledge, with expertise in security technologies and architectures.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with network security technologies, with a proven track record of success in similar roles.
  • Understanding of zero-trust security models, cloud security frameworks, and threat intelligence.
  • Strong knowledge of network security concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, Proxy, Firewall rules), with ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practical scenarios.
  • Experience with cloud security, network security, and large COTS product architecture, with ability to integrate multiple systems and technologies.
