About Cyber Security Roles

As a cyber security network engineer, you will play a pivotal role in managing and advancing network security capabilities within the organization.

The position requires you to maintain and develop related security standards and processes, improve health monitoring and control effectiveness of the city's cyber stack, and provide governance and support to ICT projects containing Network security.

  • Develop, implement, and manage the city's Network Security infrastructure
  • Participate in architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful and secure deployment across Infrastructure
  • Lead the development of the city's Network Security capability with a focus on policy & governance of firewalls & network security systems (checkpoints, Palo altos, NSGs, f5's etc)
  • Strong understanding of NextGEN Firewalls, Network Segmentation, VRFs, SDP, ZTNA, IPS / IDS, SASE, CASB, DNSSEC, TLS, VPN, SIEM, NDR / XDR
  • Develop and enforce security policies and Network Security best practices.
  • Provide on-call services as required to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of security services.
  • Act as primary contact for Firewalls & security systems policy & governance consultation and advice.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation around NetSec activities including any risks associated with those actions.
  • Monitor and manage Network security incidents including log review.
