Radiocommunications Technician Position

This is an exciting opportunity to join our telecommunications team and contribute to the growth of wireless infrastructure construction.

We are seeking a skilled Radiocommunications Technician to maintain telecommunications infrastructure across the state.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in installation, commissioning, and testing of telecommunications equipment.

A tertiary qualification in Telecommunications or Engineering science would be highly regarded.

In this role, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining WCDMA/LTE/4G/5G/NBN technologies, radio base stations, and various types of cables.

You will also configure and capture status for Hand Over Packs (HOP's), commission and integrate RBS into the network, and conduct PIM, VSWR, sweep, and fibre testing.

Troubleshooting, replacing defective equipment, and monitoring site performance are essential aspects of this position.

  • Installing and maintaining WCDMA/LTE/4G/5G/NBN technologies.
  • Installing radio base stations, terminating Hybriflex Cables and Coaxial feeder cables/tails, earthing, cable trays, diplexers, and combiners.
  • Upgrading or installing DC power rack systems including rectifiers, batteries, and load testing.
  • Configuring and capturing status for Hand Over Packs (HOP's).
  • Commissioning and integration of RBS into the network.
  • Conducting PIM, VSWR, sweep, and fibre testing.
  • Troubleshooting, replacing defective equipment, and monitoring site performance.
  • Installing and commissioning microwave indoor and outdoor units.
  • Software installation, testing, and commissioning of sites.
  • Building and maintaining collaborative business relationships with client support personnel.
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with team and business staff.

Desirable skills include: Tertiary qualification in Telecommunications or Engineering science. Equivalent experience as a telecommunications technician. Experience in installation, commissioning, and testing of Nokia and/or Ericsson equipment. Current Working at Heights / Tower Rescue Ticket; First Aid and CPR. Construction White Card. Full Manual Drivers Licence. Radhaz RF EME Awareness, Telstra, NBN, Vodafone, Optus 3G/4G experience highly regarded. Able to work away from home if required.
