About the Role

We are seeking highly skilled professionals to join our team as Senior Defence Committee Secretariat Assistants.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the coordination of a senior defence committee;
  • Administer and streamline Defence approval processes for capability investment proposals;
  • Manage throughput for the Defence Investment Portfolio, particularly scheduling approval submissions through the Capability Manager Gate Review, Investment Committee and Government;
  • Assist in developing guidance material for stakeholders and project managers.
  • Deliver high-quality secretariat functions;
  • Support the coordination of Defence approval processes for capability investment proposals;
  • Contribute to managing throughput for the Defence Investment Portfolio;
  • Support the development of guidance material for stakeholders and project managers.

About Our Team

We provide decision support to the Vice Chief of the Defence Force in his role as Chair of the Investment Committee. Our team is an influential voice that shapes and assures outcomes on integrated investment program proposals to improve Defence delivery for Government. The ideal candidate would possess or be able to acquire a NV1 (SECRET) security clearance.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate excellent stakeholder engagement, analytical and critical thinking skills, good written and oral communication, sound professional judgement, and a desire to learn about the Defence capability system. A background in related fields such as meeting coordination and stakeholder engagement is highly desirable.
