Strategic Workforce Leader

This is an opportunity for a dedicated HR professional to take on a challenging role in Canberra, Australia.

The team delivers strategic and operational workforce services to enable organisational capability. The focus areas include Capability, Planning, and Change, which support the department's complex agenda.

The Role

As a Strategic Workforce Leader, you will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of all HR management functions, including payroll, WH&S, performance, policy development, reporting, and process management. Your key duties will include:

  • Managing provision of quality HR services and programs
  • Providing support and advice to the Executive team and staff on HR management strategies, workforce planning, and Enterprise Agreement
  • Providing high-level strategic advice and policy direction on HR issues such as performance, payroll, WH&S, employee relations, recruitment, learning, and development
  • Overseeing HR policies, programs, and procedures align with divisional priorities and objectives
  • Conducting extensive effective and collaborative stakeholder engagement, both internally and externally
  • Leading the implementation of best practice approaches to develop capabilities and increase operational effectiveness
  • Providing regular reporting and strategic advice to executive leadership teams

Requirements
