Heavy Equipment Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team at Ventia, a leading provider of maintenance and repair services to the Australian Defence Force. As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, you will be responsible for carrying out scheduled servicing and vehicle inspections, diagnosing and repairing vehicle faults, and working within timeframes specified to meet required work standards.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on heavy military vehicles, including 4WDs, armoured tanks, trucks, and infantry personnel carriers.
- Diagnose and repair complex vehicle faults, using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve project goals and deadlines.
- Develop and implement effective maintenance plans to ensure optimal vehicle performance and minimize downtime.
- Conduct regular inspections and testing to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Certificate III or equivalent trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or Mobile Plant Technology.
- Proven experience in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair, preferably in a military or defence-related environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
- Australian Defence Clearance and Australian citizenship.
