Therapeutic Foster Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate professional to join our team as a Therapeutic Foster Care Specialist. You will play a critical role in supporting carers and children, providing expert guidance, and ensuring they receive the best possible care.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert case management and support to carers and children in our TFC program
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that cater to each child's unique needs
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Home Based Care Coordinators, to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Conduct regular home visits and assessments to monitor progress and address any concerns

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or related discipline
  • Experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and families in a trauma-informed way
  • Well-developed understanding of Attachment and Trauma theories, and the ability to assist others in understanding their implications
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, and awareness of current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families
