Public Health Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Officer to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough inspections and regulatory actions for food premises, skin penetration businesses, public pools, cooling towers, and boarding houses.
- Assist in investigating environmental issues and major pollution incidents.
- Support the implementation of educational programs on public health and environmental matters.
- Provide input on development applications involving contaminated land or environmental concerns.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, correspondence, and represent the council in formal meetings when required.
- Liaise with external agencies and community stakeholders on public health matters.
- Ensure accurate documentation and uphold legislative compliance.

Requirements:- Recently completed a tertiary qualification in Environmental Health or Public Health.
- A solid understanding of relevant legislation, including the Local Government Act, Food Act, and Public Health Act.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional approach to regulatory duties.
- Excellent problem-solving and investigative skills.
- A current Class C Driver's Licence.
- Prior experience in public or environmental health (paid or unpaid) is highly desirable.
