Job Title: Chief Marketing Strategist

The Chief Marketing Strategist works to plan and deliver the marketing function of a prominent festival year-round, including the annual Festival campaign.

  • Marketing Strategy
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy to drive engagement and sales for the Festival.
    • Oversee all marketing activities including brand identity, website management, and digital content creation.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement market research projects as required.
  • Partnerships and Communications
    • In collaboration with the Festival Director, drive partnerships and leverage marketing opportunities with sponsors and partners which generate revenue for the Festival.
    • Develop and deliver cross-platform marketing and communications campaigns that engage audiences.
    • Manage marketing stakeholders including agencies and suppliers, media partners, and creative agency.
  • Campaign Management
    • Lead on the design delivery of marketing materials, in particular the Festival brand identity and program guide.
    • Oversee Festival and Schools campaigns to ensure sales targets are met.
    • Create and deliver out-of-season event sales campaigns.
  • Budget Management
    • Monitor and analyse sales data.
    • Evaluate and report on marketing activities and outcomes against organisational KPIs.
  • Key Qualifications
    • Demonstrated senior marketing experience developing and executing audience strategies within a dynamic arts industry.
    • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills including budget management, partnership negotiation, and performance reporting.
    • A strategic thinker with capacity to build and manage a team, meeting deadlines and maintaining a collaborative attitude even under pressure.
    • Evidence of digital literacy skills across website, data analysis, social media, and ticketing platforms.
    • An understanding of and passion for the Australian arts landscape.
