Job Title:

Aged Care Engagement Officer

\Job Description:

The primary objective of this role is to foster connections with local Elders, older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and their families. This involves raising awareness about their aged care entitlements.

\Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring support for clients is organised, sequenced, and supported to facilitate effective access to appropriate aged care services both internally and externally.
  • Determining the level of local demand for aged care services, identifying existing services, and any service gaps in the area.
  • Continuing advocacy work with clients as required.
\Requirements:
  • Excellent relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships.
  • Experience working with older people.
  • Understanding of internal ACCHO services available to clients.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the aged care landscape.
  • Ability to enter data and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience working unsupervised and as part of a team.
\Benefits:
  • Salary range: $72,413 to $77,931 per annum.
  • 5 days paid leave during our end of year shutdown period.
  • Salary packaging of up to $15,990 per annum.
\Working Conditions:

Applicants must hold or be willing to obtain a current police check, valid NT working with children's card, current CPR certificate, and full vaccination against COVID-19 or an exemption listed on the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).
